The Siberian Husky is a very fun loving dog, and they thrive in a pack situation. A pack can be your family. They do require a lot of time and devotion so they do not become bored or lonely.. The Siberian can be difficult to train and takes persistance and patience. One day your Sib will be attentive and the next moment give you that Siberian laugh. Although the looks of this breed would make you think they would be an excellent guard dog, but don't be fooled by those eyes. Siberians are very gentle, kind and tend to love everyone. If you are thinking of acquiring a Siberian for a guard dog, this breed is not for you. This breed is also not a one person dog,, this is ideal for a family pet. Siberians also require a well fenced yard. They are very good at finding a way out if there is one. Even that hole you thought was too small, just might be the ticket to freedom for a Sly Sib. Also, this is not a breed that can be trusted off leash. They must be supervised at all times. A car is a Siberians greatest enemy and cars claim many Siberian lives each year. Leash up when going out!
