The Shiba Inu is a very fun loving dog and is the smalleds of the six originalJapanese dogs, and they are very loyal to family, but can be distant towards strangers. They do require a lot of time and devotion so they do not become bored or lonely.. The Shiba has a mind of it's own and tend to be a bit cat like in nature even as far as cleaning themselves. They are very easily house trained. If you take your Shiba out often enough accidents are rare. This I find amazing even in young puppies. Shiba's are playful and as a general rule are not barkers, but often yoddle. Shiba's can tend to be possesive of toys and food in the eyes of a Shiba Inu they own the world around them.. This little dog is very clean and fun loving and easily groomed. Shiba's are a great size for apt's and close living. Males reaching no more than 16 1/2 inches and females even smaller. They make for a nice clean small sized dog. This little dog resembles a fox with the heart of a lion. You will be treasured loved and adored and protected by this little dog. Easy to groom, odor is not present even when wet what more can you ask for. Often they can be great with cats if raised around them. Withstanding both hot and cold temps the Shiba is a very hardy healthy breed of dog.
This breed is candid, entertaining and very social. They have hardly any odor and are very clean. If you are active, want a breed for your lifestyle, and have a well contained area to provide fun for a Shiba, then this breed may be for you.
