What we feed our dogs is not taken lightly here at Spotlight Kennels. That is why we feed Flint River Holistic Dog food and Raw Barf diet several feedings per week to all of our dogs. How a dog matures and developes can be determind by the quality of food that it was feed from a very young age on, and from the nutrition that the dam recieves during pregnancy and nursing. Please be sure to take this into consideration when buying a puppy from a breeder. Often breeders that are not reputable will cut corners and feed a dog food that is not top quality/Holistic. This does effect the overall health of a puppy in a big way. In our opinion you get what you pay for. Quality breeders often have to charge more for pups for the overall exspense is far more to raise a litter properly, and to insure both Dam and Sire and your new puppy have recieved the proper nutrion from the start as well as deworming with a good dewormer from two weeks of age on. We feel it is very important to feed a dog food free of harmful preservatives and By-Products. As well as all dogs need raw meat several times a week for optimum overall health.Only a trained eye and knowledge of the harmful chemicals in dog foods will these hidden cancer causing chemicals be reconized on a label often breeders are un aware and have chosen a dog food based on pupularity, or even how it is ranked. Scary if you are not familiar, for dog foods try to mask these chemicals. There is no such thing as a good By-Product or artifical preservative. Dog food is not FDA regulated so a By-Product can be anything from chicken feet to sawdust yes sawdust, hair you name it! Nor does it contain any so called fillers of any kind period, most dogs food have cheap fillers to up profit of the so called premium dog food, that can actually be even harmful to your dog. Also beware many formulas that include fish are preserved with a cancer causing preservative! Make sure your dog food is not harboring this harmful preservative Flint River is 100% free of it and has NEVER been a part of a Dog Food Recall of any kind.
We here at Spotlight have done our research and feel that Flint River is superior caninine nutriton. It is Corn and Glueten Free good for those with allergies.Flint River has passed by my standards to which I feel are very high. There is no BHT or BHA or any other harmful preservative or chemicals. This formula is over baked to preserve nutrients and freshness and changes hard to digest starches into a highly digestable dextrins easily absorbed by your dog. This is what makes them stand out from the rest. I have yet to find a formula that I find as good and as safe as I have found Flint River to be. . I have taken my time to research ingredients and the harmful effects that they have on dogs. You would not believe what goes into many so called top brands that claim to be premium foods. I will not name any names, but I assure you many are not what they claim.This dog food is as holistic as you gets in a dog food.
Did you know that some grocery store brands as well as premium so called dog foods, list real chicken/Meat as the first ingredient? They are fooling the customer for they count the weight of water so your dog is recieving 70% water and only 30% meat!Meat in Meal form is far better 91% digestable this way and 11 times more protien rich!
The preservatives Flint River uses is Vitamin C, Not some harmful chemical known to cause cancer or birth defects in humans or animals which many even top brands use to preseve. I find this dog food to be excellent and it shows in our dogs. We also feed our dogs the BARF (Raw meat) several times a week. Chicken wings,hamburger,eggs with shell and tripe etc. This is very benificial and how dogs were ment to eat. Dogs thrive on natural hormone free raw meat and are designed to digest it properly and utilizing it better than any dog food you can buy no matter how holistic it is. Never mix raw meat with dog kibble in the same feeding. They must be seperate so they are digested properly. For both are digested differently.
