What we feed our dogs is not taken lightly here at Spotlight Kennels. How a dog matures and developes can be determind by the quality of food that it was feed from a very young age on, and from the nutrition that the dam recieves during pregnancy and nursing. Please be sure to take this into consideration when buying a puppy from a breeder. Often breeders that are not reputable will cut corners and feed a dog food that is not top quality/Holistic. This does effect the overall health of a puppy in a big way. In our opinion you get what you pay for. Quality breeders often have to charge more for pups for the overall exspense is far more to raise a litter properly, and to insure both Dam and Sire and your new puppy have recieved the proper nutrion from the start as well as deworming with a good dewormer from two weeks of age on. BUYER BEWARE of these breeders cutting corners.
We feel it is very important to feed a dog food free of harmful preservatives and By-Products.Only a trained eye and knowledge of these chemicals will they be reconized, often breeders are un aware and have chosen a dog food based on pupularity, or even how it is ranked. Scary if you are not familiar, for dog foods try to mask these chemicals. There is no such thing as a good By-Product or artifical preservative. Dog food is not FDA regulated so a By-Product can be anything from chicken feet to sawdust yes sawdust, hair you name it! Also beware many formulas that include fish are preserved with a cancer causing preservative. Make sure your dog food is not harboring this harmful preservative Eagle Pack is 100% free of it~
We here at Spotlight have done our research and feel that Eagle Pack Holistic is superior caninine nutriton. It is Corn and Glueten Free good for those with allergies.Eagle has passed by my standards to which I feel are very high. Contains Probiotics, and digestive Enzymes,Glucosamine,DHA for aid in vision and brain development. I have taken my time to research ingredients and the harmful effects that they have on dogs. You would not believe what goes into many so called top brands that claim to be premium foods. I will not name any names, but I assure you many are not what they claim.This dog food is as holistic as you get if you are not making the food yourself fresh out of your fridge.
Did you know that some grocery store brands list real chicken/Meat as the first ingredient? They are fooling the customer for they count the weight of water so your dog is recieving 70% water and only 30% meat!Meat in Meal form is far better 91% digestable this way and 11 times more protien rich! Eagle Pack tests every batch of dog food before it leaves their plant, Eagle Pack has never been a part of a recall and they have their own inspected plant, Major quality control here! They are EU certified meaning they know the country of origin of each ingredient. Eagle Pack is USDA/APHIS certified and inspected. This is very rare for dog food and expensive.
The preservatives used in the Holistic Line are Vitamin C and Vitamin E, Not some harmful chemical known to cause cancer or birth defects in humans or animals which many even top brands use to preseve. I find this dog food to be excellent and it shows in our dogs. I like the fact that Eagle is so well rounded with fresh never frozen ingriedients that are slowly cooked to preserve freshness and flavor. Also there is Microbials that is excellent to aid in digestion and to help your puppy or dog absorb what he/she is eating better. A healthy gut insures the dog is absorbing what they eat. Human Grade ingredients.. This is a biggy in my book.
We here at Spotlight are constantly researching dog foods and feed only cutting edge nutrients to our dogs. If ever we feel there is another brand of food that would benifit our dogs better than what we are currently using we will feed it. I am very intense about my feeding program and insist on feeding only the best to my dogs. ~Overall Health begins with optimal nutrition, This I firmly believe in.
